This is our family’s smallholding. A small flock of sheep, chickens and bees share the land with us. Before you reach The Hideaway, you walk through a paddock and a small meadow, past trees and wild plants that change with every season.

Close the gate behind you
The Hideaway has its own gate. Step through it, close it gently behind you, and let that small action mark a shift. This is your private space for a while.
There are plum trees, a few great poplars and hawthorns, with wild plants finding their way in between. Beyond them, the view opens across what feels like endless farmland. It is a landscape we live with every day, yet it still makes us pause.
Listen to the land
Red kites move above the fields. Starlings gather, and the rooks have plenty to say to one another. If you are here after dark, listen for our tawny and barn owls. The sounds are never quite the same twice; that is part of being here.
We love that the walk in gives you time to notice these things. You can arrive carrying a full head and, somewhere between the meadow and the gate, begin to feel a little more present.

The moment we imagined
Set your bag down. Light the fire, pull a blanket around your shoulders and hold a cup of seasonal tea made with herbs from this land. There is no need to make the moment useful. Watch the light change through the trees, or sit with someone you love and say very little.
We created The Hideaway with this precise feeling in mind: that first breath out, a little release, room around your thoughts. The fire, the plants, the open sky and the privacy all belong to the same experience. It is a chance to decompress and be in nature without being asked to do anything with it.
When it is time to leave, the path will take you back through the meadow. For now, the gate is closed behind you. Settle in.
